Huge Congratulations to Julie and thanks so much for sending your birth story 💕
My favourite part
“ Heidi led the way and my body followed “ 😍😍😍
Hi Lainey
I have dreamt of the day that I’ll have my very own birth story to share so will type it up for you while it’s still very fresh 😅
Thank you so so much for everything, your classes have played such an invaluable part of my pregnancy journey, I really looked forward to them every week and have made some fabulous mum friends from it.
I used all your affirmations and yoga poses to get me through and spent a lot of time contracting on all fours which was amazing. I just kept thinking of that little hammock and then pulled into Childs pose when it got to peak which really helped bring her down.
Thanks again, you are such a special person and have such an amazing impact on all of us mums ❤️
38+1 on Friday evening at 9:30 pm, my waters broke. I rang the Coombe, they told me to come in. They confirmed it was my waters and told me to go home until contractions started. If they didn’t start, I’d have to come back in at 2:30pm for antibiotics and then make a plan for induction for 9:30pm Saturday (24h after waters)
At 2 am the surges started, very minor at first. They were mainly in my back as baby was back to back. I really wanted to labour for as long as possible at home but with first baby I was nervous as things seemed to be speeding up and getting more intense.
At 4:30am we decided to go back to the Coombe. The midwife wanted to send me home as I was only 1cm but I just knew things were moving fast and really didn’t want to go back home.
They suggested moving to a ward to get pethadine and my partner wouldn’t be allowed in, I really didn’t want this as I felt a change in my body and within 15 minutes, things ramped up.
By 5:30am I was 5cm and was being moved to a delivery suite. When I got there I felt my body bearing down and involuntarily pushing. I found the gas and air really helpful at this stage.
I really wanted the epidural however when the doctor came to give it at 6am, it was too late as I was 10cm. I was given some time to allow for descent and baby was born by 7:30am.
It all happened so fast, our bags were still in the car as they wouldn’t let us have them in the assessment room and when we got to the delivery suite, I didn’t want my partner to leave because I knew she was coming fast. I had none of my labour tools with me except my winner flow which really helped during the initial stages. By the time the bags arrived, so had baby Heidi 🥰❤️ a night we will never forget.
The affirmation “each surge brings me closer to my baby” really helped along with poses from our yoga practice. That’s exactly what it felt like! I was thinking of you the whole time. You’ll laugh, I got to a very primal stage where I was making animalistic noises… the midwife got a bit frustrated with me and said “if you keep making those noises you won’t be allowed to get the epidural because the anaesthesiologist will think your baby is about to arrive” little did she know… 🤣🤣
Body is feeling surprisingly good, I had a second degree tear. But can’t feel the stitches with all the newborn snuggles🥰❤️
Heidi led the way and my body followed.
Thanks again for everything and I can’t wait to see you for baby massage 😘xxx
